Flying

Posted by Gypsy on Aug 2, 2005

Woo hoo!!!

I get to see Hubby in three weeks and two days (I’m not counting or anything). I bought our plane tickets today to go to Ohio to visit the In-Laws. We will get a whole week together before he leave for seven months in Iraq.

On the one hand, I can’t wait to see him. I miss him a lot and I hate to sleep alone. But on the other hand, I’m going to have to share him with his family and friends. On top of that, I’m going to have to get used to him being gone all over again. Which means another week of crying myself to sleep, if I get to sleep at all. But it’s worth it. At least I get to spend a little more time with him.

Of course, on top of all this, I’m absolutely terrified to fly. And to top it off, a plane crashed in Toronto today. Granted, it wasn’t an American airline and the obviously very experienced pilot was able to not kill anyone, but still there are a million what ifs going through my head.

My ultimate plan is to take a Valium before I get on the plane. It’s a red eye flight, so I’ll be able to sleep and I have three hours to kill at the airport before Hubby’s flight arrives, so I can always find a spot in the terminal to crash until he gets in.
