Finally

After months a months of wondering “when’s it gonna be my time” I am finally getting promoted. Actually, less that three hours from now, I’ll finally be a noncommissioned officer.
For those of you who don’t know how the military rank system goes, there are four types of troop. There are junior enlisted (the privates) who get crapped on all the time, the noncommissioned officers who are in charge of the junior enlisted, the warrent officers who really aren’t in charge of anyone and commissioned officers who are in charge of everyone.
I say finally, though I’ve only been in the military for two and a half years, which is about two years less than most people who become a noncom.
Regardless, I worked really hard for this, which is why I’m getting promoted so early.
The thing that sucks about it happening today is there were two people who helped me a lot in the last year to get to this point and neither of them will be here to see it.
The first and, most important, is Hubby. I just want to thank him for always making me study and work even when I was tired and didn’t really feel like it. He pushed me and encouraged me to keep working to get to this point, even when I didn’t think it would happen.
The second is my coworker and friend, OCD. Whenever we had down time at work, OCD was studying with me and giving me hints and tips to help me succeed.
I hope they both know all their help and encouragement has gotten me to this point and is much appreciated.
Thank you.
