Out of control

Posted by Gypsy on Dec 23, 2006

I tend to travel a lot. When I do, I have a few things I’m very specific about. The first is that the airport must have wireless Internet. The second, that it must have a smoking lounge. I don’t think that’s too much to ask of somewhere I’m going to spend hours waiting at.

I also have a routine when I travel. It tends to work like this: Drop off car in economy parking, shuttle to ticketing, check in, go through security, go to the bathroom, find smoking lounge, sit and smoke while surfing the Internet.

Yes, I realize I’m OCD.

Well today, Las Vegas ruined all that for me. I went through my routine as normal, flew through security (thank God I’m flying business class), hit up the ladies’ room and high tailed it to the smoking lounge. As I’m approaching it, I notice it’s EMPTY. That never happens here. Then I notice the lack of chairs and ashtrays. Then I see this:

:(

It seems there is now a ban on smoking in public places here in Vegas. First, I’m shocked I didn’t know this and, second, I’m frustrated because I really want a cigarette. Five and a half more hours and I’ll be in Atlanta and if there is a smoking ban there, too, I’m probably going to kill somebody.
