Time to start fresh

With 2006 now over, I guess now would be a good time to reflect on a year that had many ups and downs for me. I’m nowhere near where I thought I would be when the year began. In 2006, I’ve had one relationship go completely to shit and another one even better than the last begin. I’ve made some amazing friends and fallen out with others.
This year saw the end of my marriage and with it the loss of people I considered family. Everyone knows what a rough time that was for me, but there were a few people I couldn’t have made it through without. I’m pretty sure they know who they are as I’ve thanked them publicly before. I’m sorry to know that I’m not friends with a couple of you anymore, but I hope you realize that I’ll be eternally grateful for your support during that time. With the end of my marriage I also lost people that I considered family. That’s how things go when a marriage ends, but knowing that didn’t make it any less saddening. I also lost a friend this year, Shaun, you are more than missed by many, and watched my brother head to Iraq.
But things weren’t all bad this year. I went on amazing vacations to New York City, New Jersey and Los Angeles to meet up with people from the View Askew board, which was the source of many wonderful friends and countless memories, mostly good. This year I also got to spend the holidays with my family and visited briefly with my brother before he deployed. And while one relationship ended this year, another began with an amazing guy that I really care about.
There were many ups and downs to 2006. But with a new year comes a chance to start anew. So here’s to a much calmer and happier 2007.
Happy New Year!!!

Happy new year Christina. I hope 2007 brings you happiness, friendship, love and a new career out of the army. I wish you all the best and hope all your dreams come true.
Here’s to a brighter fresher ‘07. I’m glad I got to be a part of your ups and able to be a support for your lows. You were the same for me!
Much Love,
Nicole~
