3 years gone…
Posted by Gypsy on Jul 31, 2008
So last Sunday marked the three year anniversary of this site. Surprisingly, some things haven’t changed (when I started this blog my husband was in Iraq and as I type this my husband is in Iraq and I still have an evil cat) but a lot of things have changed (different husband and different evil cat, my hair color about a million times). Through it all, though, this has been a place I can share happiness and woes, stories and photos of my travels and geeky hobbies, and give people the updates on my life I know they so desperately crave (my ego is another thing that has changed… it’s much bigger).
So this is me thanking all my awesome readers for checking this place out and giving me an audience. I really appreciate it.
You keep reading, I’ll keep writing.
Look what I did!!!!

I got a 3.82 out of 4 last semester, putting me on the Dean’s List. :D
Goodbyes suck!

Our last day in the city started off at the best place in the world. Well, it actually started with getting up at an insanely early hour for a vacation (aka 7 a.m.) because we had to pack and clear out of Adam’s by 8 a.m. Andrew met us in Queens, where we said our goodbyes to Adam and head back to the city to drop our bags off at the hotel before heading uptown to the best place in the world, also known as Tiffany and Co.’s flagship store. This is where I bought the very beautiful ring I posted about a few days ago.
Ring purchased, we steered the group, which now included Ed and Crystal, to Central Park. While Gina and Sophie set off in search of polar bears at the zoo, the rest of us found a vendor and got a quick lunch of oh so yummy yet gross hot dogs. Andrew really got into his.
We then did a little wandering with hopes of finding the Bethesda Fountain. We did eventually find it, but not before going a little too far north and having to turn back around. It is there that we met back up with the girls and got a great shot of all the ladies with the fountain.
Gina and Sophie, determined to make the most of their last day, left the group to spend their last bit of time at the Natural History Museum. The rest of us hitting exhaustion decided to just chill in the area of the park known as the Mall, where Andrew performed a few choice dance moves (including the running man) while the rest of us got our final photos of the trip.
Unfortunately, all vacations must end and too soon it was time to go to the hotel, pick up our bags and say goodbye. This part just plain sucked. While I see Ed and Crystal nearly every time I’m in the city, the next time I’ll definitely see Andrew is in February on the cruise. While there is always the hope that we’ll see each other sooner, there’s no guarantees so of course we dragged it out as long as possible. We even managed to fit in a little brainstorming as to where we’ll go the next time I’m across the pond (last time it was Venice, next time we are thinking Barcelona unless I can convince him to go to Moscow).
With goodbyes over, the Brits set off for the airport while Amanda, Ed and I started walking back to Grand Central Station so Amanda and I could catch the train. Ever the gentleman, Ed, grabbed some of our bags and we couldn’t resist taking one last photo of him with the most girly bags we had on us.
Hopping the train, Amanda and I head back to West Point to crash at Jack’s before driving home Wednesday morning. Somehow, even sore and exhausted, we made it home safe and sound to get a good night’s sleep before gearing up for the busy Independence Day weekend.
