Summer Fun Part 1: Home to New York
Posted by Gypsy on Aug 10, 2009
Obviously I’m a little behind on the updates to this blog, but the next bunch of posts will help you understand why. See, the last 6 weeks of my life have been extremely busy as Andy and I made the most of our summer with some traveling followed by some visitors once we retuned to San Diego.
So our summer of vacations and fun started with us flying home to my hometown in western New York to spend ten days with my family. The main purpose of the trip was to see my sister graduate high school (more on that here). But it was also just nice to spend some time at home with my family. Throughout the week we went to the movies a couple times, woke up insanely early to hit up the farmer’s market in Rochester and just hung out playing cards and bullshitting. A perfectly relaxing vacation.
As Andy had never seen New York in the summer, it was also a chance for him to see just how pretty my home can be. When we flew in, we arrived late at night, so it wasn’t until the next morning that he got to see just how green it gets there. I think he may have been just a little speechless when he woke up the first morning and looked out the window. He also made me stop at one point so he could get a couple photos. Unfortunately, our camera isn’t that great, so you really can’t get the full effect of it in the following photos. Just know that it’s really freaking awesome to look at.
I’d love to write more about this portion of our vacation, but honestly we didn’t do a whole lot while we were there. Just had quality time with the family and vegged out. Which is good as the month that followed was more than busy enough.

I look forward to seeing the greenness and beauty of the region where you grew up.
I love Fischer hill it was nice with snow, but it was Even more amazing in green. It was good to see your family too. I had lots of fun.
