Pale Rose: It’s all over!

18 months after I first started her, I’ve finally finished stitching Pale Rose. I seriously finished about 10 minutes ago, so I don’t even know what to say right now. I’ve been working on her for so long that it’s going to be weird working on something new. I still can’t believe I’m done with her. But she’s just beautiful, if I do say so myself. I will be taking her to a framers as soon as I can. I can’t wait to have her up on my wall.
Even after working on her for so long, I was still pretty shocked to see how big she is at 18 inches tall and 14 inches wide. 212,000 stitches, total.

So here is a little update on what I’ve been up to on this project. As you will see, the final photo so far is of it out of the frame. Since I was switching it to a new one, I figured I’d take this so you can see exactly how much has been done over the last year. There are still 11 more pages to go, but that feels like nothing compared to what I’ve done so far. Still looks like I’m on track to finish by the end of the year, depending on how much I get done before Andy gets home in October.

A huge area of background makes updates kinda boring, so I figured I’d wait until I had something to show. The joy of background work is that it’s large spaces of one color, so it goes quick. Which is why I made it through three more pages of chart in about three weeks worth of working. That means 17 pages done and 19 more to go. Nearly halfway done. :D
